Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems was the highlight artist of the summer, hands down. She has such a smooth, soothing tone of voice that is naturally appealing. I first heard her while listening to Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ project. Tems was a feature on track eleven titled Essence – which just graced both artists with a platinum record. It was the song of the summer in my opinion.

Tems was also featured on Drakes highly anticipated ‘Certified Lover Boy’ (track sixteen) that dropped on September 3rd. Perfect timing for her most recent release ‘If Orange Was A Place’ (EP) that has been in heavy rotation. The EP title correlates so well with how these songs make me feel when I hear them – warm, that golden hour to sunset feeling. Also, I love the cover art.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing all this well-deserved success in her direction, only more to come! Excited to learn more about Tems and to see what’s in store for her, I’m a fan for sure.
